Douglas A. Siedenburg, CRE, CCIM

Douglas A. Siedenburg began his real estate career in 1976. In 1985, he joined Iowa Realty Commercial Brokers as Vice President and General Manager, overseeing 12 brokers. Promoted to President in 1990, Doug led the firm until 1994, growing it into Iowa’s largest commercial brokerage with 33 brokers and over $100 million in annual business. His management role provided exposure to a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, and he emerged as a leader in Iowa’s Commercial Real Estate sector.

Following the acquisition of Iowa Realty’s parent company by Central Life Assurance in 1985, Doug and his division were tasked in 1989–90 with developing a real estate workout unit for Central Life’s distressed real estate portfolio. He led the startup and operations of this unit, which coordinated efforts between portfolio management and brokerage teams, handling numerous complex transactions.

Doug joined The Mid-America Group in 1995, as Executive Vice President, focusing on business development, acquisitions, and marketing. He also provided nation wide real estate consulting to Gaylord Container Corporation, a Fortune 500 company.

In 1998, Doug founded “The Siedenburg Group”, offering corporate and municipal clients real estate consulting, strategic planning, site selection, investment counsel, and brokerage services. The Siedenburg Group helps align real estate strategies with operational goals for effective, economically sound solutions.

In his downtime, Doug enjoys traveling with his wife and family, fly-fishing with his two sons, community and philanthropic work and is involved with their local church.
